Step 1 – Healing Emotions / Eliminating Internal Stress

Emotional stress (anger, hurt, grief, hate) causes cancer at the cellular level, by causing a depletion of Adrenaline, which results in a build up of sugar, leading to low oxygen levels, fermentation, and cell mutation (cancer). See the Cancer Personality and Cancer Counseling for detailed research supporting this claim. Healing emotional pain (anger, hurt, grief, hate) is CRITICAL for recovery of cancer. Step 2 – Avoiding / Removing All External Stress

Any external stress will feed cancer at the cellular level, by causing a depletion of Adrenaline. ALL stress should be avoided, without exception. According to Lothar Hirneise, world-renowned cancer researcher, late stage cancer survivors have all made considerable SYSTEMS CHANGE. This means they have either changed jobs or finished working altogether, ended relationships or marriages that are stressful or depressing, moved house, moved to a peaceful location etc, all for the purpose of removing ALL stress from their lives.

Step 3 – Reducing Stress Hormone Cortisol Levels

Finding additional ways to remove / reduce stress inside your PHYSICAL body will help to calm the autonomic nervous system and lower stress Cortisol Levels that have been proven to suppress immune system function. Those with cancer have abnormally high levels of the stress hormone Cortisol. Regular aromatherapy massage, yoga, tai chi, meditation, relaxation techniques, and regular laughter, will all help to lower stress Cortisol levels. The use of Laughter should be strongly considered. There are many instances of cancer patients who have used laughter therapy (i.e. Watched VERY funny movies/comedies everyday during their recovery) without using mainstream medicine and have fully recovered. Laughter is found to lower bloodpressure, reduce stress hormones, and boost immune function by raising levels of infection-fighting T-cells, disease-fighting proteins called Gamma-interferon and B-cells, which produce disease-destroying antibodies. Laughter also triggers the release of endorphins, the body's natural painkillers, and produces a general sense of well-being.

Step 4 – Increasing Melatonin Levels

Those with cancer have abnormally low levels of Melatonin, a hormone produced by the pituitary gland of the brain during deep uninterrupted sleep. This is important because 1) Melatonin is responsible for inhibiting cancer cell growth and 2) because Melatonin is the hormone responsible for regulating the immune system. Those with cancer have low Melatonin levels because the internal stress they feel means they have difficulty sleeping well. Daily meditation has been shown in studies to significantly increase Melatonin levels and should be strongly considered. Step 5 – Boosting / Supporting The Immune System

High stress Cortisol levels, parasites, pathogenic microbes (viruses, bacteria, fungus), chemotherapy and radiation will all significantly weaken the immune system, whose job it is to keep the body healthy and to destroy cancer cells and other harmful pathogens in the body. Therefore it is vitally important to support the immune system during recovery from cancer and during remission. Intravenous Vitamin C Therapy can also be used for this purpose. Avemar (Wheat Germ Extract)

Avemar is the new wonder-alternative cancer treatment / adjuvant therapy for boosting the immune system and fighting cancer. Avemar Inhibits Breast Cancer Better than Tamoxifen

PRESS RELEASE: Wheat Germ Extract (AVEMAR) inhibits breast cancer in study published at ASCO 2007 (AMERICAL SOCIETY OF CLINICAL ONCOLOGY)

CHICAGO, June 4 /PRNewswire/ -- A fermented wheat germ extract inhibits estrogen positive and estrogen negative breast cancer tumors better than the world's best selling cancer drug, Tamoxifen, according to research published this past weekend at the 2007 meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, ASCO. The compound, Avemar, has been extensively studied in many cell lines, animal tumor models, and several human clinical trials. In the current study, Andras Telekes, MD, Ph.D., head physician at the Hungarian National Institute of Oncology, and colleagues, implanted estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) and estrogen receptor-negative (ER-) breast tumors from humans and mouse cell lines into female mice and monitored tumor growth. They compared tumor growth in mice treated with Avemar alone, or treated with three of the most widely used and studied breast cancer drugs: Tamoxifen, Aromasin, or Arimidex, alone, and combinations of those drugs with Avemar.

Against the mouse ER+ cell line, MXT, Avemar inhibited growth by 50%, Aromasin by 46.7%, Tamoxifen by 34% and Arimidex by 29.3%. Against the human ER+ cell line, T47T, Avemar inhibited growth by 49%, Tamoxifen 42%, Aromasin 25% and Arimidex 25%. Each agent was enhanced by 5 to 10% when combined with Avemar. Most effective was a combination of Aromasin and Avemar, inhibiting both the mouse and human derived ER+ breast tumors by 60%. Effects against estrogen receptor-negative (ER-) breast cancer were measured with the human derived, MDA-MB-231 cell line. Estrogen-blocking drugs are not effective against ER- breast cancers, so they were not tested in this tumor model. However, Avemar did inhibit the growth of the ER-negative MDA-MB-231 breast tumors significantly (52%), suggesting to researchers that the mechanism by which the extract works is different from that of the anti- estrogen drugs, and is independent of a breast tumor's estrogen receptor status.

Avemar's efficacy against both ER+ and ER- tumor types suggests the compound's mechanisms of action against breast cancer may be those that inhibited tumor growth in other cancers, including lung, pancreatic, colon, melanoma, leukemia, and other breast cancer lines, among others, against which the compound has also been tested. Chief among these mechanisms is its ability to interfere with the excess use of glucose by cancer cells (the Warburg effect), which interferes with the synthesis of DNA needed for (cancer) cell proliferation.

DMG (N-DiMethylGlycine)

DMG is an important tool in restoring the body’s immune system for those with cancer and HIV. What is so incredible about DMG is: how quickly it works (within weeks), how safe it is (there are no known side effects), and how affordable it is (less than US$70 for a 2 month high-dose supply).

DMG has been shown to consistently increase T cell / CD4 count in those with cancer and HIV by 50%-300% within 2 months of taking DMG. DMG or N-Dimethylglycine is a non-protein amino acid found naturally in animal and plant cells. It is a non-toxic, solid, water-soluble substance, and has been used as a nutritional supplement for 30-40 years.

World Research Links DMG to Increased Immune Response

Researchers at Kazan Veterinary Institute (Soviet Union) first began using DMG to restore immune competence to guinea pigs and rabbits exposed to intense X-irradiation in the 1960s.

Charles Graber and his team of researchers at the Medical University of South Carolina found that DMG could significantly influence immune function in a number of in-vitro and in-vivo models, and published the following findings in the Journal of Infectious Diseases (1981):

1. DMG invoked a humoral (increased antibody response) in rabbits given a typhoid vaccine, thus demonstrating enhanced B-cell activity. 2. DMG increased T-lymphocyte population in an in-vitro lymphocyte blast transformation test on blood samples of 75 individuals. 3. A double-blind study involving 20 human subjects showed DMG to be effective in stimulating both a humoral (antibody) as well as a cellular-mediated immune response when a Pneumovax vaccine was administered as an immune challenge. Antibody's increased 4.5-fold compared to the control group and Leukocyte Inhibition Factor (LIF) also increased significantly in those given DMG. The research demonstrated that DMG significantly stimulates B-cells to produce higher antibody responses (humoral branch) and to potentiate a greater activity of T-cells and macrophages (cellular immunity branch) - all-important cancer-fighting cells.

John W Lawson, PhD, of the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Medicine, Clemson University, found rabbits given DMG together with a typhoid or influenza antigen, produced a 4-fold increase in anti-body's compared to the control rabbits, and showed a 3 to 9 times greater increase in T-cell count, depending on the vaccine challenge used. DMG was also found to cause a 2-fold increase in interferon (IFN) in these rabbits. Interferon is a cytokine, a product of T-lymphocytes, which shows anti-viral and anti-tumor activity. Lawson and his team also used DMG on a number of cells lines, and found as DMG concentrations increased, levels of cytokines, including TNF-a (Tumor Necrosis Factor - Alpha), IL-1 and IL-2 (Interleukin-1 and 2), also increased for these cell lines. This increase in cytokines greatly enhances immunity to infections as well as increased killing of cancer cells. Dosages of DMG at even 10 times the recommended levels were found to be safe and did not lead to fever or inflammation.

Clemson University also carried out a study on mice using DMG against the Melanoma antigen, a highly metastatic form of skin cancer. Primary tumors developed in 70% of the mice in the control group given the melanoma antigen, but not given DMG. None of the mice given DMG (who were also given the melanoma antigen) went on to develop primary tumors.

An immune study was carried out by the US Army to test the immune effectiveness of DMG. Bruce Ivins, PhD, at the Medical Institute of Infectious Disease at Ft. Detrick, Maryland, evaluated the effects of DMG on guinea pigs given anthrax. Both groups of guinea pigs were vaccinated against the anthrax virus, while one of these groups was given DMG in addition to the vaccine. When the guinea pigs in both groups were challenged with a potentially lethal dose of virulent anthrax bacilli, 4 out of 9 (44%) of the vaccinated animals in the control group died. Remarkably, 11 out of 11 (100%) of the vaccinated animals given DMG survived, demonstrating an enhanced immunity and enhanced cellular response.

The following is a reprint from the 4th edition of the AIDS Control Diet book by Mark Konlee (1992). The AIDS Control Diet book is the forerunner of the current book on How To Reverse Immune Dysfunction: "Early in July (1992), we talked to a man from California who had contacted us...He told us that 3 months earlier, he had doubled his T-cell (CD4) counts from 120 to 240 in one month by taking 800mg daily of DMG. He had been on AZT for one year previous to this with his T-cell (CD4) counts holding steady at about 120. He attributes the increase to DMG. Then, he reportedly told four of his friends about his experiences with DMG. They also tried it and used about 800mg per day (sublingually). Everyone reported a signficant increase in T-cell (CD4) counts. One man reportedly went from 45 to 170 in 2 months.

Puna Wai Ora: To test this claim, we chose a man infected with HIV at random who had a consistently low T-cell count that hovered between 180-240, that had remained between these levels for four years. His last reading before taking DMG was 220. This man took 750mg DMG daily (sublingually) for 6 weeks, then stopped. Two months after he stopped taking DMG, his T-cell count was recorded at 360 by Auckland Hospital - Infectious Disease Unit, a 61% increase.

Hans Kugler, PhD, successfully treated his dog Foxie using DMG, who was diagnosed with a large abdominal tumor, possible carcinoma, in 1987. An untrasound and blood tests revealed the tumor was very large and had spread to the liver and kidneys. Kugler put Foxie on a daily regimen of 250mg of DMG daily, as the primary source of treatment. After six weeks the tumor had shrunk to half its original size and continued to decrease until the twelfth week when it was barely noticeable. Later examination revealed the tumor was completely gone, and Foxie had returned to normal health. [Preventative Medicine Up-Date 1990]

CONTRAINDICATIONS & DOSAGE

DMG is not advised for pregnant women or nursing mothers and should only be used in children under medical supervision. There are no known reports of overdose with DMG. DMG can lead to mild ulceration of the mouth and chalky teeth - these side effects pass after ceasing DMG intake. Rinse with warm salt water after meals and before bedtime to help heal broken areas, ulcers or sores in your mouth.

To boost the immune system, it is recommended those with active cancer or HIV take 750mg – 1000mg of DMG daily, sublingually (under the tongue), in between meals for 6-8 WEEKS. This should be taken as 2-3 capsules / tablets three times a day. Those in remission should consider taking 250mg – 500mg DMG daily. Fever Therapy

A fever is the body's highly evolved attempt to destroy invading organisms and to sweat impurities out through the skin. Fever is an effective natural process of curing disease and restoring health. Hypocrites, the founder of Western medicine more than two thousand years ago said, "Give me the power to create a fever, and I shall cure any disease." Induced or naturally occurring fever achieves the following:

During a fever, the functioning of the immune system is stimulated, while the growth of bacteria and virus is forced to slow down. The production of white blood cells, the primary agents of the immune system, is increased, as is the rate of their release into the blood stream. The generation of antibodies speeds up, as does the production of interferon, an anti viral protein that also has powerful cancer-fighting properties.

World Research Links Fever to Increased Immune Response

There is evidence that the frequent fevers of malaria might function as a cancer-protecting factor. Dr Paavo Airola in his book, Worldwide Secrets of Staying Young related the story of the Pontine swamps near Rome in Italy, which, until a few decades ago, were a breeding ground for malaria-carrying mosquitoes. The swamps were dried out, and the malaria disappeared. However, during the next decades, that area, which had before been almost free of cancer, saw an increase in cancerous diseases. After a generation, the cancer incidence level of that area had reached the level of the rest of Itally. Malignant cells are selectively destroyed at temperatures of 106 to 110 degrees F, so the frequent fever attacks of people in the malaria-infected area may have mobilized the body’s own defenses too frequently for cancer to take hold.

There is evidence that artificial fever works as an immune system stimulant by increasing the number of white blood cells in the body. In a 1959 review of studies on the effects of heat treatments, Mayo Clinic researcher Dr Wakim and colleagues cite findings indicating that the number of white blood cells in the blood increased by an average of 58% during artificially induced fever.

Many modern giants of biological medicine in Europe, such as the Nobel Prize winner, Dr A Lwoff, famous German cancer specialist, Professor Werner Zabel, and the director of the most successful cancer clinic in the world, the Ringberg-Klinik, Dr Josef Issels, use artificially induced fever in the battle against cancer. Starting in 1951, in his hospital in Germany, Josef M Issels, M.D. administered several 100,000 fever treatments without any adverse side effects or complications to thousands of his patients suffering from progressive metastatic cancer. Studies carried out in his hospital showed the remarkable immune enhancing effects of fever therapy. Dr Josef Issels says, "Artificially induced fever has the greatest potential in the treatment of many diseases, including cancer".

Research into the use of thermal therapy, or heat treatment, for cancer is being conducted at the University of Texas Houston Medical School and its teaching hospital, Memorial Hermann Hospital. According to researcher John Bull, M.D. "With modern science and technology, it has become possible to mimic fever by inducing controlled heating of the whole body or individual tissues. The focus of both our laboratory research and clinical research is the use of systemic heating or whole body thermal therapy to induce a fever-like state in order to treat metastatic cancer."

"Fever, viruses and the patient’s own immune cells are natural healing processes in the very special sense that Nature itself has designed them without human intervention. The following inverse correlations have been found: 1. Patients with more fever have a lower incidence of cancer, 2. Fever Therapy involves drinking 5 cups of Ginger Root tea whilst in a HOT BATH (NOT SCORCHING HOT!) containing 1000 GRAMS (up to 3 pounds) epsom salts for 20-25 minutes. Step 6 – Cleansing the Body of Microbes and Parasites

Prolonged stress suppresses the immune system. When the immune system is suppressed, somatids (tiny healthy organisms necessary for life that live in our body and our blood) - pleomorphise (change) from harmless (spore like forms) to harmful viral, bacterial, and fungus like forms.

These viral-bacterial-yeast-like fungus 1) ferment the glucose in normal cells, breaking the (oxygen) Krebs Cycle of the cell, causing cell mutation and the birth of new rogue cancer cells and 2) ferment the glucose in cancer cells, providing a natural growth factor for cancer cells and tumors to grow within the body. Step 7 - Detoxifying the Body

What are toxins? Toxins include “mycotoxins” or acidic waste products caused by 1) microbe and parasite secretions, 2) a poor diet, 3) chemicals, alcohol, tobacco, 4) anti-biotics, 5) chemotherapy agents, 6) fermentation of stress hormones, 7) poor exercise regime causing build up of lactic acid, 8) dead microbes and parasites, and 9) dead cancer cells.

These toxins build up primarily in the liver – the master immune system organ. When the liver is overloaded with these toxins, your immune system is weakened, you feel sicker, and cancer and virus-bacteria-fungus thrives. It is very important to have an on-going detoxification plan to detoxify the liver (the master immune system organ), the colon (intestinal immune system), the gall bladder and the kidneys, to prevent toxins building up within your body.

When you are killing microbes and parasites or using an alternative or orthodox cancer treatment to kill cancer cells, it is important to detoxify the body at the same time, as your liver cannot remove from the body all the dead microbes and cancer cells that are being killed in the process. Step 8 - Cancer Nutrition / Re-Alkalizing the Body's pH

Cleaning your body from the inside out, also means making sure whatever you put in your body from now on is free from toxins. It is PARAMOUNT to stop smoking and to stop drinking alcohol, and to change your diet to one rich in anti-cancer foods. These are foods whose compounds have been proven in studies to fight and kill cancer cells in the body. Step 9 – Regain Locus of Control Over Your Cancer

All late stage cancer survivors have a strong inner belief that they can beat their cancer and overcome it. This strong inner mental belief sends direct messages to the immune system to work harder and to fight and kill cancer cells in the body. Those who feel cancer has beat them, send subconscious messages to their immune system to shut down and expect defeat, as they feel the battle has already been won. It is important to adopt an attitude that cancer is only a physical warning symptom that is showing YOU that your emotional, mental, spiritual and physical body’s are out of balance. A warning is not meant to be a defeat. You CAN overcome cancer if you believe and have faith, in yourself, and in God to heal you, and if you do the necessary steps indicated in this 11 step recovery program.

Cesium Chloride / DMSO
What It Does	Liquid ionic cesium chloride works by making cancer cells highly alkaline, typically 8.0 and above. Cancer cells cannot survive in a highly alkaline environment. Water-soluble DMSO transports the Cesium Chloride to every cell in the body.
Evidence of Its Effectiveness	Studies conducted in several experimental tumor models in the 1980s found that the administration of cesium or cesium chloride led to reductions in tumor growth and mortality in certain tumor-bearing mice such as those with sarcoma or breast cancer [American Cancer Society] Dr E. H. Sartori treated 50 patients with Cesium Chloride / DMSO over three years at Life Sciences Universal Medical Clinics in Rockville MD and in Washington D.C. All patients were terminal subjects with generalized metastatic disease. Cesium Chloride (CsCl) treatment was given at daily dosages of 6 to 9 grams in 3 equally divided doses, with vitamin A-emulsion (100,000 to 300,000 U), vitamin C (4 to 30 grams), zinc (80 to 100 mg) selenium (600 to 1,200 mcg) and amygdalin (1,500 mg) in addition to other supplementations according to the specific needs of the patient. The diet consisted mainly of whole grains, vegetables, linolenic acid rich oils (linseed, walnut, soy, wheat germ) and other supplemental food. To increase efficiency of the treatment and improve the circulation and oxygenation, the patients received the chelating agent EDTA, dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) and also a combination of vitamins, K and Mg salts. An overall 50% recovery from cancer by the Cs-therapy was determined in the 50 patients treated after 3 years. One of the most striking effects of the Cesium Chloride treatment was the disappearance of pain in all patients within 1 to 3 days after initiation of the Cs-therapy.
Level of Difficulty to Administer	This protocol should always be administered with Potassium and needs expert telephone guidance. The body will start smelling of a pungent sulphur odour, as the DMSO is sulphur-based. It is relatively easy to self-administer at home, however it is recommended a second person assist in the process of applying the Cesium / DMSO protocol.

What It Does	The oleander plant (when diluted to exactly the right amount), is toxic enough to kill cancer cells, but with the proper dilution, will not kill normal cells.
Evidence of Its Effectiveness	Xenavex™ is manufactured from the leaves of the oleander shrub. The main active ingredient in the drug, oleandrin, has demonstrated significant anti-tumor activity during in-vitro evaluations, according to a series of peer-reviewed papers published by University of Texas researchers since 1999. A recent study sponsored by the National Institutes of Health suggests that a small group of cardioglycosides including oleandrin, mimic "gene therapy" in cystic fibrosis cases. Xenavex has been approved by the FDA, in isolated cases, for "compassionate use" by cancer patients seeking access to it as a "drug of last resort." Although there are claims that Anvirzel improves quality of life, reduces pain, increases energy, and causes cancer regression and remission, there is no scientific evidence to date that supports these claims. Phase I and Phase II clinical trials on Xenavex (another form of oleander extract) are scheduled to begin in late 2005 on people with non-small-cell lung cancer. What It Does	Graviola works by slowing down or stopping the production of ATP. Normal cells are unaffected by this process. However, with cancer cells, due to the way they create energy (by fermentation), when the ATP level drops to a critical level the cancer cell falls apart.
Evidence of Its Effectiveness	Purdue University researcher Jerry McLaughlin, working with doctoral student Nicholas Oberlies, found compounds in the Graviola tree that have shown preliminary success in fighting some drug-resistant cancers. What It Does	The Bill Henderson Protocol is the only alternative cancer treatment that rebuilds the cells with very important good fatty acids. It uses the Budwig Diet at its core.
Evidence of Its Effectiveness	[Department of Nutritional Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, Toronto, ON, Canada M5S 3E2.] Recent studies indicate that diets rich in phytoestrogens and n-3 fatty acid have anticancer potential. This study determined the effect of flaxseed (FS), the richest source of lignans and alpha-linolenic acid, on growth and metastasis of established human breast cancer in a nude mice model. Estrogen receptor-negative human breast cancer cells, MDA-MB-435, were injected into the mammary fat pad of mice (Ncr nu/nu) fed a basal diet (BD). At Week 8, mice were randomized into two diet groups, such that the groups had similar tumor size and body weight. One continued on the BD, while the other was changed to BD supplemented with 10% FS, until sacrifice at Week 15. A significant reduction (P < 0.05) in tumor growth rate and a 45% reduction (P = 0.08) in total incidence of metastasis were observed in the FS group. Lung metastasis incidence was 55.6% in the BD group and 22.2% in the FS group, while the lymph node metastasis incidence was 88.9% in the BD group and 33.3% in the FS group (P < 0.05). Mean tumor number (tumor load) of total and lymph node metastasis was significantly lower in the FS than in the BD group (P < 0.05). Metastatic lung tumor number was reduced by 82%, and a significantly lower tumor trend (P < 0.01) was observed in the FS group. Lung weight, which also reflects metastatic tumor load, in the FS group was reduced by 20% (P < 0.05) compared with the BD group. Immunohistochemical study showed that Ki-67 labeling index and expression of insulin-like growth factor I and epithelial growth factor receptor in the primary tumor were lower in the FS (P < 0.05) than in the BD group. In conclusion, flaxseed inhibited the established human breast cancer growth and metastasis in a nude mice model, and this effect is partly due to its downregulation of insulin-like growth factor I and epidermal growth factor receptor expression.
Level of Difficulty to Administer	The Bill Henderson protocol includes an extremely rigid diet that the cancer patient must follow. Also, Bill has studied many different brands of supplements, it is absolutely critical to use the brands he recommends. The biggest disadvantage of this treatment is that it cannot be combined with many other cancer treatments.

Brandt Grape Cure (Contains Resveratrol, Laetrile)
What It Does	This treatment involves fasting with water for 12 hours then eating grapes for 12 hours, for 6 weeks at a time. The water fasting makes the cancer cells "hungry," and when the cells do get food, what they get is grape juice, which contains several major cancer killing nutrients, such as: ellagic acid, catechin, quercetin, oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC) - from the seeds, resveratrol – from the skin colouring of purple seeds, pterostilbene, selenium, lycopene, lutein, laetrile (amygdalin or Vitamin B17) – from the seeds, beta-carotene, caffeic acid and/or ferulic acid (together they kill cancer), and gallic acid.
Evidence of Its Effectiveness	Studies in lab animals have suggested that grape seed extract may act against prostate and breast cancers. One lab study found that grape seed extract seemed to make the chemotherapy drug doxorubicin more effective against breast cancer cells. Randomized clinical trials are needed to determine whether grape seed extract can be helpful against cancer in humans. At least one early phase clinical trial (for prevention of breast cancer) is currently under way. Lab and animal studies have shown that resveratrol may help prevent heart disease and cancer. It appears to have some antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and possibly anti-estrogenic properties. It also seems to activate some liver enzymes responsible for ridding the body of unwanted chemicals. These properties may mean it will be active against cancer in people, but randomized clinical trials are needed to confirm this. Early clinical trials are now under way in healthy volunteers to determine the best dose of resveratrol that can be given safely. Two types of human cells: white blood cells (lymphocytes) and leukemia cells (molt-4 cells), were studied. A low-intensity time-varying electric current (0.14 milliamp) generated by the Clark Zapper was applied to cell cultures via two platinum electrodes for 2 hrs at 37o C. Cell counts were made at different times after electric current application. Results show that the current had no significant effect on human white blood cells up to 24 hrs after exposure, whereas it significantly inhibited the growth of leukemia cells. At 24 hrs after exposure, concentration of leukemia cells exposed to the electric current was only 58% of that of non-exposed leukemia cells.
